"O people of the world! Build ye houses of worship throughout the lands in the name of Him Who is the Lord of all religions. Make them as perfect as is possible in the world of being…"

— Bahá’u’lláh (The Kitáb-i-Aqdas, p. 29)

img_7232_smChildren who contributed to the Kingdom Project and Liang's Adventures activity booklets were recently invited to attend the first ever Kingdom Project Special Visit for Children at the Baha'i House of Worship on July 8-9, 2006. The program coincided with the Holy Day commemoration of the Martyrdom of the Bab and welcomed 17 children and their families from around the country. The children, ages 3 to 13, enjoyed a two-day program as special guests of the National Spiritual Assembly.

The weekend of inspiring and educational activities included a welcome from "Uncle Billy" (National Treasurer Dr. William Roberts) and Liang the Lion, a tour of the House of Worship highlighting the Temple restoration work, a magic show with balloon animal making, a fun-filled story-telling night with two of the volunteer writers for Liang's Adventures, family photos with Liang in the Temple gardens, a children's devotional program in the Temple auditorium, and participation in the Holy Day activities at the House of Worship.

Children and parents were enthusiastic about their memorable family weekend and appreciative of the special thanks for their support of the Kingdom Project.  As parting gifts, the children received quartz samples of the Temple and a black and white Temple photo which the Guardian particularly loved. The Children's Special Visit program was a delightful experience for all who attended, including the staff, volunteers, children, and families.
