"O people of the world! Build ye houses of worship throughout the lands in the name of Him Who is the Lord of all religions. Make them as perfect as is possible in the world of being…"

— Bahá’u’lláh (The Kitáb-i-Aqdas, p. 29)

The desire to raise awareness about our Mother Temple can produce a positively spiritual work of art, as seen in the talents of the 6-8 year-old children at Martha Root Bahá’í School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In an effort to raise funds for the Kingdom Project, these young Bahá’ís constructed an art project and assisted with a fundraising dinner for their community.

While studying the Core Curriculum Level 1, the children built a model House of Worship out of clothespins and pictures with the help of adults. They also discussed the lives of early Bahá’ís and wrote a thank-you letter in their memory, explaining how these early believers’ “great sacrifices have really paid off.”

Later, the East Pittsburgh community enjoyed dinner with the help of these youngsters – and they were blessed to have the opportunity to contribute to the Kingdom Project at the same time!

The handmade model House of Worship will circulate the Pittsburgh area, being presented at feasts to educate other communities about the Kingdom Project.

A most sincere message of thanks to these devoted young servants for discovering new and innovative ways of encouraging the friends and spreading the message of Bahá’u’lláh. As ‘Abdu’l-Bahá said, “Art is worship.” It really is!
