Even though at the Bahá'í Temple there are no real "visitors," only world citizens, a special space must be designated for those who visit the Temple to reflect, learn more about the Bahá'í Faith and to prepare themselves to transition from the hectic outside world into the meditative and prayerful environment that awaits them.

Currently, this space is located below the Temple itself, but soon, a new building will be constructed on the Temple grounds to serve as a special place for guests.

The National Spiritual Assembly is delighted to announce selection of the final design for the new Visitors Center. Preparations for the construction of the new Center are underway.

The exterior design of the Visitors Center is reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright’s prairie style architecture and provides a seamless transition into the sacred space of the Mother Temple of the West while being considerate of the Temple’s immediate environs.

The interior design of the Visitors Center will have a garden-like atmosphere with abundant natural light. It will include a large exhibit space, an adaptable auditorium and meeting spaces, a bookstore with an inviting reading area, and access to the Temple for those with disabilities.

Due to escalating building costs and expanded facility designs, the projected cost of the Center has increased to $6 million. You can help to support the construction of this important structure by contributing to the Kingdom Project today!
