"O people of the world! Build ye houses of worship throughout the lands in the name of Him Who is the Lord of all religions. Make them as perfect as is possible in the world of being…"

Kingdom Project - Chilean Temple Initiative eNewsletter — June, 2007

Dear Friends,

We hope that the Summer 2007 issue of the Kingdom Project and Chile Temple e-newsletter finds you and your loved ones joyous and happy! We are delighted to share the latest stories and news from around the country about these sacred building projects. It is with these precious stories in mind that the National Spiritual Assembly urges our American Bahá'í community to continue the generous and sacrificial support for the Kingdom Project and Chilean Temple Initiative.

The National Assembly recently announced that due to increased building costs and previously unknown damage uncovered during the Temple restoration work, an additional $3 million is needed for the Kingdom Project by April 2008. In addition, there is only $2 million remaining of the $6.5 million goal for the new Temple Visitors Center. The National Assembly also recently announced the $22 million National Fund goal for our American Bahá'í community for this year. In his letter dated April 27, 2007, National Treasurer, Dr. Billy Roberts, celebrated our efforts, applauding our national community as “a community of victors!” enthusiastically reminding us of our capacity to achieve the goals that have been set.

You will find in this Summer 2007 issue the following highlights and features from the past several months:

  • Bahá’í House of Worship in Wilmette Named One of the Seven Wonders of Illinois
  • A Cool New Experience—For the first time ever, air-conditioning installed at the Bahá'í House of Worship in Wilmette
  • “First Annual Chili for Chile Cook-Off Championship” Held in Houston, Texas
  • Journey to Chile. Susan Engle, a Bahá'í from Lindenhurst, IL shares with us about her recent travels to Chile
  • Bahá’í Children’s Carnival—Spiritual Themes and Tangible Prizes! Grand Junction, Colorado
